My favourite piece of technology

By far my favourite piece of technology is the PC. It is practical, useful, entertainment developer. But I think there is too many information and reviews from many users on the internet, magazines, journals, etc.

Keeping this in mind, I would prefer to talk about turntables as my favourite piece of technology. I've recently bought one in late 2016 and I have to say it: It was one of my best inversion in my life. The sound quality is matchless, the best I've ever heard, maybe it's not that practical as cd's, but, by far has a better quality sound.

But turntable is nothing without vinyls, when I bought my turntable I've bought one vinyl for it: "Recordings" by Porcupine Tree, Until the actual date, I have 3 vinyls (yes, not much, but they´re expensive): "Recordings" and "In Absentia", both by Porcupine Tree and "Still Life" by Opeth.

"In Absentia" by Porcupine Tree

"Still Life" by Opeth
In general terms, what I really like about this format (physical, more than only vinyls), is the fact of immersion with the music, Generate a real connection between the sounds and artwork, It is a thing that digital music won't give.

Why did I choose Biochemistry?

Since I was a child, I've always have been interested in science area, one of my favourites was (and still) astronomy. I used to always read books and articles about stars, galaxies, matter, planets, etc. Also I was very into animals with my class mates, we used to do presentations every weeks about that (voluntarily, because we really liked it).

Sky nowadays (Andromeda galaxy, the shiny point)

Then, when I was in high school I was into business and marketing and then when I finished high school I could get into that career but then I was really disappointed.

A year and a half later, I've entered into Chemical Engineering, but for personal motives, I quit.

As I've said in my last post, my mother studied obstetrics, so I've always been into biology, never was difficult to me and as I like sciences, I really like chemistry, that's why I get into this career and at the moment has been very interesting, specially the area of proteins and toxicology. Thanks for reading.

Me

Hi.
My name is Juan Pablo Ruz Cabello, I was born on Santiago december 29th 1993.
I'm studying Biochemistry at Universidad de Chile.

My dad is a history teacher, he studied at Universidad de Talca. My mom is a lawyer and she studied at Universidad de Chile, but also she studied obstetrics at Universidad de Chile. Also I have a younger brother, his name is Ignacio and he has Down syndrome and Autistic features, we are so unite.

I really like music and like to listen a lot of rock/metal bands, specially progressive, like King Crimson, Jethro Tull, Yes, Pink Floyd, Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Dream Theater, Tool, Rishloo, Soen, etc. I really enjoy long play songs and conceptual albums, music has to be immersive to me, a bit technical and a little bit emotional. I have a collection of CD's I've started like 10 years ago, now I have 24 of them and recently start to buying vinyls.

As I've said, I'm studying Biochemistry, after a couple of years of disappointments, confusions and anguishes, I hope this career is what  I'm going to do for my life.

Thanks for reading this.
